Happy Christmas! STRIP #7 in UK Stores Tomorrow

STRIP Magazine #7 should be in UK comic stores tomorrow.

Diamond, our UK distributor, who have confirmed receipt of stock, listed the issue as the Xmas/Christmas special - order code SEP127823 - STRIP MAGAZINE CHRISTMAS 2012 SPECIAL - and confirmed two weeks ago it will be in stores on Wednesday if the stores ordered it.

However, just when we though things were going so well - the issue arriving on time for once! - after a discussion with one comic shop, it seems the email solicitation of the title may have passed some shops by.

Although listed as "sold out" the title is listed on the Forbidden Planet web site, so they seem to be expecting copies: see http://bit.ly/strip-magazine07

Subscription copies of #7 (including a replacement copies of Issue 5/6) were mailed from Bosnia to all subscribers - UK and overseas - on 20th/21st November.

A taste of the STRIP digital edition

Our former editor John Freeman, who is now Managing Editor at our digital partner ROK Comics, has put together this little video for us demonstrating the digital edition of STRIP Magazine Issue 7.

We thought you should see it too and we hope you like it, although we are disappointed we did not see his cat! We imagine it is a ferocious beast from myth.

If you have an iPad you can buy any issue of STRIP from iTunes.

Digital Strip #7 on sale now, print edition in shops soon

The digital edition of Strip Magazine #7 for iPad is on sale now from iTunes, and Diamond UK have confirmed the print edition will be on sale in comic shops from Wednesday 19th December.

This edition of the magazine is a Christmas Special that takes a slightly different form to the usual magazine.

We have an exciting new episode of Phil Hester and John McCrea's regular series WARPAINT to kick it off, but you'll find the Magazine is largely devoted to a variety of one off stories.

By way of a hint of things to come next year, we also have a sneak look at several all-new stories including THRACIUS by James Hudnall and Mark Vigouroux; DENIZENS (by Miko Horvatic and Maxim Simic), which we think is set to prove another hit with our readers; DAN BARTON OF SPACE COMMAND (by John Freeman and Andrew Chiu), an affectionate comedy homage to space heroes; and CORWIN BLAYS, a festive tale starring a hapless thief!

The digital edition also features some exclusive extras, such as a quirky festive tune, and added 'data cards' with background information on the characters and some creators, along with a video trailer for David Lloyd's digital project, Aces Weekly.

We hope you enjoy this special Christmas gift, which also includes a bonus taster of the ROK Comics titles HOUDINI and THE BEATLES STORY - only in this digital edition!

STRIP #7 for Christmas!

After innumerable delays STRIP #5/6 is finally on its way to the shops and to subscribers.

“It’s a case of if anything could go wrong, it did,” explained Mike Conroy, head of Print Media Productions UK operation. “I’m not going to attempt to justify the title’s lengthy absence but I would like to apologise to readers – especially to subscribers – for the inexcusable delays, which they have accepted with great equanimity.”

As for the future, STRIP #7, with a cover by Croatian artist Maxim, will be an 84-page issue carrying a £4.99 cover price.

The Christmas special includes a classic Dredger episode from the controversial 1970s British comic, Action.

PMP is then putting STRIP on deliberate hiatus but only until February, when the comics anthology is to be relaunched as a newsstand title.

“We will be using this time to continue to resolve many of the problems we have encountered. One of our top priorities will be secure a UK shipping company which will be able to deliver STRIP efficiently and on time,” stated STRIP publisher Ivo Milicevic. “You wouldn’t believe what sort of problems we have had with carriers… one entire print run is still wandering somewhere in Italy while our latest shipment only got through on the second attempt… no one knows where or how the original vanished!

“I am amazed and grateful just how supportive our audience has been. I can promise that the relaunched STRIP – The Comic Magazine will bring more really great art and stories to he newsstands. It will be worth to wait,” he proclaimed.

STRIP #7 is currently in production and set to hit shops in the first week of December.
