Print edition of STRIP Issue 2 on way at last

We'd like to put it down to sabotage by Enemy Apes and dimensional rifts, but the delay to getting the print edition of STRIP: The Adventure Comics Magazine Issue 2 into newsagents has been down to far more mundane (but probably more complex) reasons.

But, at last, our distributors have confirmed receipt of the Magazine from our UK printers and they are aiming for it to be on sale from Wednesday 31st July.

Our printers are also in the process of dispatching subscription copies.

(No, we can't quite believe it, either).

Once stock has also reached our UK book warehouse we'll be dispatching copies to Diamond for comic store delivery.

We're very sorry for the delay to the Magazine, and we're going to have to apologize right away for what will now be the early September release date of Issue 3.

Because of costs of distribution and a crinkle in the inner workings of one of our major UK distribution points that would mean releasing Issue 3 in August would cost as much as it would to promote three issues from September onwards, we have decided to delay the release of Issue 3 until the beginning of September.

All your favourites will continue and we have plans for new strips well into 2014 from artists including Bernard Kolle, Marc Olivent and many more. (And yes, those are plans on the basis of getting the title firmly back onto a monthly schedule...)

Strip Magazine to re-launch in September

Print Media Productions has reluctantly decided to delay its planned news stand launch of STRIP from June until September 2012.

The decision follows discussion with our news stand distributors who suggested that the autumn would be a far better time for the new incarnation to hit the newsagents.

"There are also vital issues that need to be sorted out, especially a guaranteed delivery cycle from Print Media in Bosnia" editor John Freeman commented. "Both myself and Mike Conroy, who is advising us on administration matters, discussed the situation with publisher Ivo Milicevic, who has bankrolled the project so far, and agreed the logistics of getting the first issue of the new incarnation printed and into the shops for our planned launch date were simply insurmountable at this time."

Once STRIP Issue 5 - a giant-sized issue - is released in comic shops in the UK next month (again, later than planned), STRIP will take a summer break.

Bernhard hails from Croatia but lives and works n Lubljana, Slovenia. He began his career drawing horror comics for the American market and drew the comic books Conny and Gespenster Geschichten between 1988 and 1996 for Germany's Bastei Verlag. Between 1996 and 1999 he was back drawing horror stories for Dark Horse titles like Ghost in the US before returning to Bastei and Gespenster Geschichten to draw Maddrax and Vampira.

As well as covers for STRIP, he's working on an action adventure story for the title.

Strip Issue One on sale today in UK comic shops

STRIP Magazine Issue One is available in British comics shops from today. The digital edition for iPad is also available and can be downloaded from the iTunes Store. The cost of either edition is £2.99. (of course, the digital edition doesn't come with the fab giant Mirabilis poster).

And in case you'd forgotten - STRIP Magazine is an adventure anthology comic featuring some great art and stories from some brilliant creators including PJ Holden (Judge Dredd), John McCrea (Hitman, The Boys), Michael Penick (Insurrection), John Ridgway and many more.

Offering a range of strip stories, comics news, interviews and features, plus a fully re-mastered version of the classic British comic strip Hookjaw, this is a first issue you will not want to miss!

As the title's editor, I'd like to thank everyone who's been involved so far - it's not been the easiest of 'births' - and everyone who's already bought the iPad edition, or is heading out to buy the comic today.

Print Media is a new British company formed by Ivo Milicevic, who has been publishing comics and graphic albums in Bosnia and Croatia for 20 years, working with publishers such as Bamboo, Casterman Dupuis, Les Humanoides Associes and King Features Syndicate.

PMP UK plans to publish comics and graphic albums in the UK market, developing their own characters but also working directly with creators and other publishers to create new graphic albums and comic strips.
